Golf Putting Requires Proper Ball Acceleration

Golf PuttingWe’ve all made the mistake of following the ball with our eyes when Golf PuttingWhen discussing the topic of golf putting, it only takes one trip to the golf course to see that a Golf Ball with little momentum is influenced by the green more than a ball with some power behind it. One way to cut strokes from your game is by accelerating through the cup when golf putting. In order to do this you must not aim for the rim of the cup nearest you. Instead, you should select a target a few inches behind the cup. This will usually ensure that your golf ball has enough momentum to maintain its line.

Maintaining Focus is Necessary for Quality Golf Putting

Golf PuttingWe’ve all made the mistake of following the ball with our eyes when Golf Putting. After working hard to read the green, select a target line, and gauge the power needed, we want to watch what happens. However, watching the ball begin its trek to the cup will destroy the shot that you worked so hard to produce. Watching the ball roll away opens up the shoulders and this twists the putter’s head, throwing off your putt. When golf putting, you must keep the eyes fixed on the spot where the golf ball sat prior to your shot.

Is Golf Putting a Power Struggle for You?

Golf PuttingIt might sound funny, but golf puttingWhen studying golf putting there is a lot of discussion about reading the green, gripping the putter, and what your stance should look like. However, there seems to be a lack of information concerning how hard to hit the ball.

No matter how long and hard you study the green, if you don’t hit the golf ball hard enough it is not going to make it into the cup. The general rule for golf putting is to hit every putt with enough force that it would roll 14-18” beyond the cup should you happen to miss it.
